Poster Instructions

The workshop will include posters summarizing both research and position papers. Posters will be displayed near the workshop room all day. Poster authors will present one-minute poster boasters in the morning of the workshop. There will be a dedicated session for posters and demonstrations immediately after lunch.

Poster setup
Posters will be displayed on walls near the workshop location. Presenters should hang their posters first thing in the morning, beginning at 8am, and tear them down at the end of the event. Note: Poster locations will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so please ensure that you arrive early on the day of the event to get a good location. Materials will be provided to adhere your poster to the wall. There is no need to bring a hard-back poster; an ordinary roll-up one will be easier to hang. A member of the workshop organizing committee will be on hand to help you position your poster and resolve any issues that you may have. Please note: If you forsee there being any issues with your poster or demonstration we will be better able to address them if you warn us well in advance of the workshop.

Poster dimensions
The recommended size for the poster is 30" x 36" (i.e., 2.5 feet wide by 3 feet high). Please use portrait orientation as space to hang posters at the workshop site will be limited. Please emphasize graphics where possible and keep text to a minimum.

Poster boasters
Poster authors are requested to prepare a one-minute presentation summarizing their poster. Boasters will be presented at the start of the day in a dedicated session.

Poster boaster presenters should email a PowerPoint presentation, named with their last name, to the Program Chair, Rob Capra (rcapra3 at unc dot edu) by 5PM EDT Thursday, August 19. Presentations should contain only one slide. Note that the one-minute time limit per presentation will be strictly enforced.

Demonstrations
You may also wish to give a demo to complement your poster using your own laptop. If you plan to do so, note that wired network access will not be available at the workshop. However, there will be wireless access and instructions for using the wireless network will be provided to all workshop attendees. Please do not depend too much on high bandwidth from this network; system demonstrations that do not require network access are preferred.
